Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

I am both honored and excited to serve as the principal of Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences (VAAS), a California Gold Ribbon School with distinction granted for our Exemplary Arts Program and for Title 1 Academic Achievement. A member of the school’s original Public School Choice Writing Team, the Assistant Principal for three years, and now as Principal, I look forward to working closely with you as we implement our very unique school plan.

As we prepare for the 2016-17 school year, I hope you will place the following events on your calendar:

                        Back-to-School Night: Thursday, September 8, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

                        Lip Synch Battle: Friday, September 23, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

                        Science Night: Thursday, November 17, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

                        Student Led Digital Portfolio Night: Tuesday, December 6,  from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

                        Winter Formal: Friday, December 9, 2016.

Also, if you have friends or family members who are interested in having their students attend VAAS, we will be conducting school tours throughout the Fall Semester. Those who are interested in attending one of these tours should call our Main Office at 818-832-7751 to reserve a spot.

Our Application Window is scheduled to be open from October 4, 2016, until November 14, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. All applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on November 14, 2016. Applications are available on our website or from our Main Office.

I do hope you and your family enjoy a great year here at VAAS.  The faculty and staff are excited by the opportunities open to us in the coming school year.
