Hello VAASome Student, Parents, Family Members, and Community,

My name is Natalie Petrossian, and I am honored to be the Categorical Programs Advisor here at VAAS. What does that mean exactly? Here is a list of some of things that I am responsible for here at VAAS:

Prepare surveys/reports required by Federal, State, and District related to Title 1 and EL students.
Coordinate the writing of compliance documents such as the SPSA and the Assurances and Justifications for budgets.
Organize and lead Title 1 and Intervention program staff development for teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers.
Respond to requests for information and develop training materials resources.
Develop and maintain appropriate information systems related to electronic and paper files.
Assist with compliance of implementation of state adopted ELD curriculum and the acceleration of EL progress.
Assist with the planning and organization of meetings and have strong collaboration and data analysis skills.
Prepare notices, documents, and other communication related to Title I and English Learner programs.
Provide demonstration lessons for CCSS and ELD and facilitate grade-level meetings to analyze data and review student work.
